Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions we get regarding the Restore Conference. Look through these first, and if you still have questions email your question(s) to: peter(at)higherconnectionchurch(dot)org.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A:
There are no refunds available for our Restore Conference.

Q: Are there group rates?
A:
There are no group rates available. Families with children must pay for each child that is attending. Churches who wish to attend as a group must all register individually.

Q: What is included in the registration fee?
A:
The registration fee for adults includes entrance to all conference sessions, a conference booklet, 2 games of bowling, and a t-shirt. The registration fee for children 5+ covers the children's program, duckpin bowling, and a t-shirt. T-shirts are only guaranteed for those who pre-register. Those who register after the pre-registration date will be served on a first-come first-serve basis. Only a limited number of t-shirts will be ordered. Bowling is limited and will be on first come first serve basis until slots are filled. Children will be accomodated first for bowling. Early registration has now ended. Regular registration is still open until day of conference.

Q: What if I want to volunteer for the children's program at the conference?

A: We thank those who have volunteered to help with the kids program. We have now reached the capacity of volunteers for this specific area. For the 30 volunteers who have signed up to help with the children's program, please still register via registration form. Volunteers will be contacted via email about which session he/she will be helping with. There are still many other areas you can serve in.

Q: I emailed Jamie Han letting her know I am interested in volunteering for the kids program. Does this mean I am registered?
A: No, you are only registered if you have turned in your conference registration form. Even if your conference fee is waived, you will need to register via form for records.

Q: What if I turned in my registration form before/or on March 7th but want to pay my registration fee later after the 7th? Does the early registration of $30 still apply for me?

A: NO, it does not apply. Your payment may be turned in separately from your registration form. However, the payment must be turned in within the early registration deadline for it to be valid. If payment is turned in after the early registration deadline, you will need to pay the regular registration fee. All registration forms or payment received after March 7th will be accepted as "regular registration" for $40. (Children will always be $10) Early registration has now ended. Regular registration is still open until day of conference.

Q: Are we responsible for booking hotel rooms ourselves?
A: All those who plan on attending the conference will be responsibile for booking their own hotel rooms. You may find up to 3 other people to room with to divide the cost. (It is up to you yourselves to find roommates) Make sure you mention the code "restore" for the discounted price of $60 + tax/night. You may book 1 and check out Saturday, or book 2 nights and check out Sunday.

Q: Are we responsible for food?
A: Everyone will be responsible for their own meals. The hotel does however provide free continental breakfast during breakfast hours - but not lunch or dinner. You can bring your own food/drinks and leave them in the hotel rooms.

Q: What about Sunday? Do we have sessions?
A:
There are no sessions on Sunday, March 21st. Everyone is encouraged to go to Sunday Worship Service at 10:00am, 11:30am, or 1:30pm on Sunday. You will need to check-out of the hotel by 11am latest Sunday morning.

Q: Do we have to sleep overnight both Friday and Saturday night? Can I just go home to sleep after Saturday night session?
A: You can book the hotel for either 1 night (until Sat) or 2 nights (until Sun). However, if you choose to check-out on Saturday morning you will need to check-out by 11am and remove all belongings from the hotel room. You are responsible for your own luggage after check-out. The last session of the conference will end around 11:00pm Saturday evening.

Q: What time is check-in on Friday?
A: There is a coffe/tea & cookie reception at 12:30pm on Friday the 19th in the main lobby of the hotel. Check-in for hotel rooms begin at 1:00pm. You will receive your conference booklet, t-shirt, and more detailed information about the conference on Friday afternoon. The first afternoon session will begin at 2:30pm. We encourage those who work to take a half-day off and use a vacation day to come during the afternoon!

Q: Can I come Friday evening after work?
A:
Yes, however we highly encourage everyone who work to take a half-day off or use a vacation day to come in the afternoon. The traffic will be VERY, VERY CONGESTED going up to Hagerstown from the DC metro area during rush hour.

Q: For Friday, when does the first Children's Session begin?
A:
There are NO afternoon sessions for children on Friday afternoon (due to them still being in school). The first Children's Session will be the Friday Evening Session.

Q: Where are the eateries located?
A: Everyone will be provided a list of eateries and a map inside their conference booklet, which will be handed out during Friday afternoon reception. There are many eateries within a 5 mile radius of the hotel.

Q: For bowling, does the registration fee also include the shoe rentals?
A: Yes, 2 free games of bowling and free shoe rentals are both included! Bowling is limited and will be on first come first serve basis until slots are filled. Children will be accomodated first for bowling.

Q: What do I need to bring to the conference? What does the hotel provide?

A: Clothes and toiletries for 2 nights/3 days, Bible, Pen/Notebook. For all hotel amenities, please go to their website.

Q: Is there carpooling or rides available?
A: Everyone is responsible for their own transportation to and from the hotel. There will be no bus. If you need a ride, please try to find a ride from hotel roommates or a friend.

Q: What is the difference between Plenary Sessions and Breakout Sessions?
A:
A Plenary Session is similar to Sunday Worship Service (worship, sermon, prayertime) whereas breakout sessions are smaller group environments on a certain topic and taught by a leader or one of our guest speakers.
